Unrealistic Expectations

There has been some concern of late about bringing puppies to the resort, and specifically their returning home with 'unrealistic expectations' after a vacation where they can basically do what ever they want.

This question arises when guardians ask if the puppy can bring his or her crate? This question being asked, because at home the puppy is often confined to his or her crate when not being supervised. This being done until the puppy is house trained, so as to avoid the puppy chewing or trashing everything in sight, or forgetting to go outside to do his or her business.

Puppies can bring their crate here if they wish, but it isn't really necessary. This being because there is nothing here left to chew or trash, and the guests are supervised at all times. They go outside frequently day and night, and a few messes or barfed up meals of grass wood chips or whatever are easily cleaned up. Another reason being that another guest might take a liking to their crate, and confiscate it for his or her own use, as often happens with the various dog beds. Finally there are several real beds to choose from here, and most puppies prefer to bounce around on these....

When the guests come inside they are usually so tired that they just flop out on the various beds for a well deserved nap. That is everyone except the puppies of course, but even they after a nonstop day of play will sleep soundly at night.

The only chaotic moments are when guests arrive and depart, and on occasion when meals are served.

Puppies when at the resort are usually adopted by a older guest, who takes on the roll of being foster Mom... Also guests living together as a group form a well structured pack, and there is probably more order here than they are used to at home.

So, I rather doubt that a puppy who say is allowed to sleep on or in a real bed here at the resort, or do what ever they wish, would upon returning home insist on doing the same there?!

It is true that a resort is where guests are allowed to do whatever they want, and not a place for training or learning good manners etiquette or interpersonal social skills. However, most if not all guests staying at the resort do not return home with unreal expectations, at least I have not yet had any complaints from their much respected guardians in this regard? Instead they tend to be very loyal to their guardians, know the rules (of this home pack), have not forgotten what they have been trained to do or not do (even the puppies), and realize that a vacation at the resort is just that, a vacation and nothing else!
